The Indian market ended higher for the second straight session amid volatility on June 25. At close, the Sensex was up 226.04 points, at 52,925.04, and the Nifty was up 70 points, at 15,860.40. The rally is supported by further decline in new COVID cases and increased pace of vaccination.

Among sectors, Nifty PSU Bank outperformed other indices adding over 5 percent followed by Nifty Metal (up 3.4 percent) and Nifty IT (up 2.7 percent). Meanwhile, Nifty Energy and Media indices lost 1 percent.
